FAQs
Questions we get all the time.
What does "managed" actually mean? What does LotCop do vs. what does my team do?
LotCop owns the full lifecycle: site assessment, equipment deployment, and ongoing alert response. Your team doesn’t manage alerts, chase footage, or coordinate with manufacturers. You focus on your operation, and we handle the security side from deployment through every site change that follows.
How long does it take to get units deployed on my site?
Most deployments are operational within days of the site assessment, not weeks. There’s no infrastructure to build, no permits to pull, no wiring to run. Once we’ve assessed the site and confirmed unit placement, deployment typically takes hours.
Do I need any infrastructure, power, or internet at the site?
No. Our units are solar-powered and cellular-connected. They operate independently with no need for site power, internet, or permanent infrastructure. That’s a core part of why LotCop works on remote sites, active construction zones, and overflow lots where fixed cameras aren’t an option.
What happens when the system detects something after hours?
AI flags the event, live operators review it in real time, and active deterrence triggers immediately when warranted: strobe lights, PA announcements, and escalation to law enforcement when needed. You don’t have to be watching for any of this to happen. Documentation of every incident is delivered to your team automatically.
Can you cover multiple locations from a single point of contact?
Yes. Multi-site is one of the most common LotCop configurations. One dedicated account owner manages all of your sites, regardless of how many or where they are. Reporting, escalations, and unit moves all flow through one relationship.
How is LotCop different from a traditional security guard company?
Guards are physically present at one point on one site. LotCop is 24/7 active surveillance with live operator response across the entire site, every site. Coverage doesn’t have gaps for breaks, shift changes, or sick days, and the cost is typically a fraction of equivalent guard coverage.
What happens if a unit goes down?
We monitor unit health continuously and address issues proactively. If a unit goes offline, LotCop handles diagnosis, repair, and replacement directly with the manufacturer. You don’t make a service call or wait on a third party. We own the resolution.
How is pricing structured?
Pricing depends on site size, number of locations, and coverage scope. We assess the operation first, then put together a quote tailored to your needs. There are no surprise fees. Deployment, alert response, and maintenance are all included.
Can we use this for a short-term project or only long-term?
Both. Construction projects, seasonal coverage, and overflow lots are great fits for short-term deployments. Long-term ongoing coverage is also standard. We size the engagement to your needs.
Is LotCop the same company as LVT?
No. LotCop is an authorized LVT distributor and managed surveillance operator. LVT manufactures the units. LotCop deploys, manages, and provides alert response. That separation is intentional. We own the relationship and the service, end to end.
